MyHealthNS Service is being discontinued

The province of Nova Scotia has announced that the final day for online health tool MyHealthNS is March 31, 2020.

On February 14, 2020, the Government of Nova Scotia notified us that the MyHealthNS service would be discontinued. The final day for access to the MyHealthNS system for health-care providers will be March 27. For patients, access will continue until March 31.

Patients will be receiving instructions on how to download and save the information from their record, which must be completed by March 31. A series of reminders between now and then will be sent.

We are extremely disappointed by this news, and we encourage patients to contact the minister of health to let them know how this will negatively impact your health care.

What is the last day test results can be posted to RelayHealth?

Provider access will continue until midnight on March 27. No new information will go to patient accounts after that date. Patients will continue to have access to MyHealthNS until midnight on March 31.

I had a test done in February and was expecting to get the result in RelayHealth. Why isn’t it there?

The lab may not have finished processing the result. But after March 27, no new information will be coming to your RelayHealth record. If you don’t have the result yet and need the information, you should book an appointment with your doctor.

I’m trying to send an eMessage but I don’t see anyone on my provider list?

After March 27, RelayHealth will deactivate all provider accounts, so eMessaging is no longer possible after that date.

How will I get test result information after RelayHealth shuts down?

Physician offices will default to the way they shared test result information with patients before using MyHealthNS. How practices plan to share test results going forward should be communicated to patients.

What happens to personal health information in RelayHealth after shutdown?

After March 31, all data in the RelayHealth system will be destroyed and permanently unrecoverable. RelayHealth will be providing a Certificate of Destruction to the Department of Health and Wellness. This information exists in other forms in physicians’ offices or with Nova Scotia Health Authority / IWK.
